IDAHO FALLS — Court officials are seeking mediation in cases involving a Blackfoot man charged with murder, according to court reports.
Adan Arroyo is facing a first-degree murder charge as well as a weapon enhancement charge for his alleged role in the shooting death of 21-year-old Idaho Falls resident Kristy M. Aschliman.
In a separate case, Arroyo is also facing a felony charge for having major contraband in a correctional facility.
Orders for mediation have been issued in both cases, according to court records, which add that status conferences have been planned for April 9.
Mediation can give prosecutors and defense attorneys a chance to resolve the case before trial.
